The 82nd Governor’s Ball did something that had never been done before in Oscar History! They installed personalized name plates for all the Oscar winners, while they waited; talk about service!

In the past, Oscar winners were presented a blank Oscar Statue, which they would have to leave with Academy Officials for engraving. This process took several weeks.

Now, for the first time, the Academy created engraved name plates of all the Oscar Nominees, so no one would know the winner. After the awards were announced, the name plates of the non-winners were recycled. The winning name plates were sent to the Governor’s Ballroom where a special counter was set up.

The ecstatic stars could watch as their own personalized name plate was installed by meticulous Academy Officials! Now the winners could take Oscar home on the very night that changed their lives forever!

I mean, really! Could you imagine? You just won an Academy Award, an Oscar and you have to wait 2 weeks to sleep with it!!! OMG!!!

Oscar Night, HOLLYWOOD, CA: Sandra Bullock shined like a bright star over a glistening sea of adoring fans, that truly love her! She came across the screen in The Blind Side with warmth and compassion that melted hearts and brought tears to the eyes of movie goers around the world.

Sandra is not only a talented actress, who deserves every ounce of GOLD in that Oscar statue, she is also quite savvy when it comes to choosing a script. With The Blind Side, the story, by itself is certainly compelling, but without the right vessel to deliver that story to an audience, much could be lost. Sandra delivered that story on so many levels. It was quickly apparent in The Blind Side that Sandra, as a human being, was soulfully vested in her role. This heart and soul was captured by the movie’s talented filmmakers and delivered to theater audiences everywhere. As good as her competition was for Best Actress in a Leading Role, it was Sandra Bullock that shined the brightest.

Sandra’s Advice to Aspiring Talent!

Sandra Bullock was asked if she had any advice for students out there, acting students or just people who want to be in the entertainment industry or who dream of being in her shoes on a night like Oscar Night!

Sandra’s answer was REAL and from the HEART!

“Well, don’t aspire to be in these shoes.  You know, walk in your own.  I mean everyone’s really good at telling everyone else how to live your life or how to be or how to do it.  Just don’t listen.  My mother beat it into our heads to be original, and I didn’t understand that until later on and just everyone’s unique and that’s what makes people exciting to watch, I think, so just savour what you are and not what everyone else wants you to be.”
